The men’s collection is clean and simple with bright colours and sporty silhouettes that make it perfect for every occasion. It’s an easy look with a bold, graphic personality and the use of natural cottons makes it cool with an elegant twist. Shirts have a new lease on life thanks to acute attention to detail and a focus on fit. Cool cardigans come in vibrant summer colours with sporty pops, bold graphics and monochromatic dip-dyed treatments. Autumn’s colour-blocking is back in subtle shades, while metallic materials take over the “5 seasons Jacket.” A varied mix of chinos, both sporty and classic, as well as fresh lightweight cottons, classic twills and a military canvas all reaffirm a push to a more natural look. The girls’ collection is divided into three complimentary themes: Casual Cool, represents the street, inspired by strong colours and easy to wear separates, Deep Summer, more feminine with colours ranging from soft pastels to strong checks with a dash of sport to complete the overall holiday feel and Party Mood, evening-driven with soft fabrics and viscose for stylish body-conscious dressing. On the 3rd of December, the 55DSL London’s Flagship Store in Newburgh Street has been for the second time home of Pic+Mix, the new series of art exhibitions curated by Intercity for 55DSL, working this time with the Monorex Agency.

This time experimental graffiti artist Chu has chosen to work with fellow street artist and illustrator Disco Teck, using the tools of their trade, aerosol vs. marker pen, to give a 360 degree installation that will seriously turn your head!

Exploring (literally) new perspectives and embracing computer-aided technologies, Chu’s work has continued to push back the boundaries of graffiti since he first began experimenting with aerosol paint & home computers in the late 1980’s describing his creations as gently reminding us of the everyday conflict between digital and analogue devices. During his 30 years of experience he has successfully gained a reputation working with some of the most culturally influential artists of our time, projects with Banksy and Jamie Hewlett, collaborating at the Swiss Embassy in London and for the groundbreaking opera “Monkey Journey to the West” being a few of the highlights he is humbly proud to mention.

International artist Disco Teck blurs the fine lines between graffiti, illustration and Graphic design. He has produced work in all corners of the world with Monorex, and exhibited in New York Barcelona and London, with plans for his second solo show in 2010.As comfortable working digitally as with pen or aerosol, he has collaborated with brands like Addict clothing, Reebok, and Edding Pens.

Monorex HQ is based in London town. Situated in the creative hot spot, that is Shoreditch, Monorex has its finger firmly set on the pulse of all things artistic and influential. There’s a huge array of artists on the Monorex books, all of whom have a special skill or particular style to suit any type of job. Studio55 is a working creative space in the heart of London’s media hub, Soho. Situated above the 55DSL store on Newburgh Street, Studio55, formally the mezzanine level of the store, recently became a disused space that was crying out for some 55DSL TLC.

After working with, collaborating and supporting artists and musicians for the past 15 years and gaining much respect within the media world, 55DSL wanted to create a space that complimented the store and that could be used by creative types looking for somewhere to either work, play or exhibit.

55DSL wanted to provide somewhere inspirational for the brand itself and the artists, which in turn and with a little help from 55DSL, offers support for emerging artists to make their mark in this difficult industry. With a re-vamp of the space, Tiger Beer on board as sponsors (thank you very much!) and interest from London creatives, press and friends of 55DSL.. Studio55 was born!
